Manchester-based PR & Social Media Agency Carousel are delighted to have been announced as finalists in two categories for this year’s UK Content Awards.

Carousel is a 30 strong team of in-house creative communicators, and though we are based in Manchester, we think, act, and deliver on a national and international scale for our geographically-spread clients.

The company first made its name in PR, representing clients including Selfridges, Dyson, People’s Postcode Lottery and Bestival. In the last decade, Carousel has also developed an award-winning social media, content creation and influencer marketing offering, working with renowned clients from Paddington Bear and Accurist to Bissell, Little Tikes and Moda property.

Carousel previously took home Social Media Content Campaign of the Year in the 2021 UK Content Awards, alongside Best Use of Instagram in the 2022 UK Social Media Awards and Best Use of Social Media for Entertainment in the 2023 Global Social Media Awards. These continued wins and nominations demonstrate how the team is going from strength-to-strength to produce eye-catching social media content that drives measurable results.

OUR NOMINATIONS

This year Carousel’s UK Content Award nominations include Travel & Leisure Content Campaign of the Year for our work with The Municipal Hotel & Spa by MGallery, and the Rising Star in Content Award for Carousel superstar Fadeke Ifebajo.

THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL

We are very proud to see our launch campaign with The Municipal Hotel, Liverpool, shortlisted in the hotly-contested travel category. It is a testament to the strength of our content and results that this regional hotel launch campaign stands shoulder to shoulder with travel-industry giants operating on a national and international level with budgets to match.

The Municipal Hotel is a lovingly-restored Grade II listed building filled with history, that even used to house Liverpool Council. The launch campaign saw Carousel grow The Municipal Hotel’s social media following from 0 to 36k in under 10 months, tripling KPIs on every metric thanks to the strength of our strategy and creative.

Brand messaging was designed to revolve around the theme of time and timelessness, highlighting the heritage features and the fact the 5* hotel’s idyllic rooms, spa and F&B offering provide the ultimate way for guests to hit time-out on their busy lives. Through weaving this strong central concept throughout our creative, combined with strategic use of brand partners, influencers, media and paid social, we were able to reach and convince the target customers at each stage in the purchase journey to deliver exceptional results, with glowing feedback from the client:

“Carousel were instrumental in creating and developing the social media presence for the hotel.

Their expertise and dedication have significantly boosted our engagement and reach across all platforms. From crafting compelling content to managing our accounts with utmost professionalism, they have been nothing short of exceptional.”

RISING STAR IN CONTENT

Alongside our travel campaign nomination, we are overjoyed to see Carousel’s Senior Social Media and Content Executive Fadeke Ifebajo shortlisted for the Rising Star in Content Award.

Fadeke joined Carousel through the Juice Academy Apprenticeship scheme and immediately made her mark, consistently bringing passion, creativity and enthusiasm to her role. She achieved a distinction grade Junior Content Producer Apprenticeship through demonstrating her exemplary industry knowledge, organisation, willingness to learn and talent for content production.

Fadeke was immediately offered a full time position as a Design and Content Assistant and has since enjoyed two well-earned promotions and a broadening of her job role, rising to Senior Social Media and Content Executive in February.

In that time, Fadeke has been instrumental to success across her accounts and demonstrated an extraordinary breadth and depth of skills. She has played a pivotal role on the People’s Postcode Lottery account, which requires fast-turnarounds and initiative since the monthly draw location is a mystery until the last minute. Once a month Fifi drops everything to travel to a far-flung UK location and film heartwarming content with a charity funding recipient, edited within 24 hours and live by Saturday the same week.

She has also shaped the content strategies of globally renowned family brands including Paddington Bear,  L.O.L. Surprise! and Squishmallows, on everything from international outreach campaigns and influencer management to channel takeovers from live events. Likewise, she has shown the flexibility and ingenuity it takes to get local brands heard on social media, driving TikTok growth for Trafford Palazzo shopping centre and Liverpool’s Metquarter. Not to mention, she has led on the agency’s own social media activity, growing Carousel’s Instagram following to 5k.

“From the first moment I met Fadeke at her Apprenticeship interview, I knew she was a superstar. Her energy, passion and creativity shine through in everything she does. She is the rare mix of genius content producer and trend expert, while also demonstrating strategic understanding, organisational prowess and technical ability. I could not think of a more deserving candidate for the Rising Star in Content award and sincerely hope Fadeke wins!”
